Polychrome jasper is a type of chalcedony, and is a relatively new find from Madagascar. It was discovered while searching for the famous Ocean Jasper. It’s known for its distinct color variations and large formations. Jaspers are formed when fine particulate materials become compacted by silica and are then cemented into a solid mass. Its distinct pattern is determined by the flow and deposition of volcanic ash or silica sediments.
